DISCUSSION

1. 2007-2008 Amendments

1.  2-B Central League is proposing an amendment to restrict   membership in WIAA to public schools only.  This has the support of ESD 113 Superintendents.

2.  1-A League is proposing an amendment to clarify “Student member of a school”

3.  Mercy rule in all classification of football may be in the works.

2.  Officials Committee report

1.  District selection process went well, most all of the officials were selected for District tournaments.

2.  The list for qualified Volleyball officials was a lot less then past years.

3.  The assigning secretary’s are having a hard time recruiting new officials.

4.  Henry Karnofski was asked if it would be possible to have both the on-line coach’s rules clinic and a face to face rules clinic.  The leagues would pay extra for the second option.

3.  Site Selection committee report

Committee met and approved 1st and second round sites for football and soccer.  Concerns were expressed by another district regarding our selection and evaluation process.  We will continue to allow schools to host first round sites if they meet the District IV criteria and have a site evaluation form on file.

            1.  Support for District IV to select center official in Soccer

2.  Money is available to new AD’s to attend the State AD’s conference, contact Tim Graham, Tumwater

            1.  Fax all foreign exchange students to Mary

            2.  If AD’s declare student eligible under rule 18.25.3 send information to Mary

            3.  Next hearing date, Nov 20th at Kelso

            4.  Any students deemed eligible under rule 18.25.3 to be sent to Mary

5.  When faxing forms, please print legibly as some forms coming in are hard to read.
