District IV Budget Committee Report-Tim Graham

    * To set up a six year revenue stream to meet expenditures

1.      Minimum number of passes (15) incorporated into enrollment fee (Everyone is paying their fair share)

2.      Increasing to 10% a tournament fee in Soccer, Football and Basketball.    Eliminate the 5% fee in all other activities

3.      Freeze mileage rate for 2008-2009

4.      Allow coach’s passes for District events (To be determined at summer meeting)

5.      Eliminate District IV trophy’s.  Give each classification $500

6.      Director Frazer will bring 2008-2009 budget to summer meeting for approval

District IV Scholarships winners names due from 1-B’s and 2-A’s

1.  Vancouver Officials have said they will not agree to the contact used in 2007-2008.

DISCUSSION

1.  Amendments passed at Representative Assembly

      a. Negative impact #3 will have on the 2-A and 1-A classifications

b. Amendment #10 a student who is ineligible at one school will be ineligible at the new member’s school.

1.  This includes academic eligibility regardless of the new member schools academic eligibility policy.

2.  How is the new school going to be aware of this??

c. Amendment #12 the inconsistency between leagues and districts in determining what constitutes forfeiture.  The section allowing AD’s to interpret ate and possibly misapplies WIAA a rule was a very poor decision by the Representative Assembly.
