DISCUSSION

1. Amendments

Jim Meyerhoff reviewed the amendments, and went over the changes.  This will be voted on at the April District IV meeting.  Appreciated Jim taking the time to clarify the amendments and answer any questions.

2.  George Crawford discussed proposed amendment for 2008

In discussion with ESD Superintendents have a great concern with the unfair

 playing field that exists between the public and private schools.  He is pursuing discussion and information with regard to proposing an amendment that limits membership in the WIAA to public schools only. He feels all issues should be on the table to remedy this situation.

 3. Request from Pacific 2-B League

2-B league requested that District IV support the one year ban of a parent from Naselle from all District IV activities for one year in light of a physical confrontation with a coach at the 2-B basketball tournament

4.  State 2-B Basketball tournament

Letter was given to the board from the 2-B Central league voicing there concerns over the media coverage of the tournament.  All agreed that this was in some way related to the change in classifications.  Fans and participants alike spent frustrated hours searching for coverage of the event to no avail. It was felt that the great experience of the 2-B tournament dampened by the way they are treated by the media.

5.  Spring sport assigning fees

District IV Board approved a 10% and 5% assigning fee for spring tournament.  Again emphasizing the fact that we need a state wide assigning fee to be consistent will all associations.
