GUIDELINES

 

1.        All players and coaches must show be in uniform and check in at the pass gate for entrance into the tournament.

 

2.        The team bench is limited to 20 players, 5 team personnel, as authorized by the school., as indicated on the 0fficial District Tournament Entry Form provided in this packet .  Fax Roster to 604-3405 by May 1st.

 

3.        In the event of inclement weather, please contact the Tournament Manager for rescheduling information. Teams must be prepared to play on the next available day, except Sunday. If games are rained out, we will use the next playable date.  No Sundays will be used to complete the tournament.

 

 

4.        The official tournament ball will be the Baden 2BSFPY optic yellow leather, raised red stitch, 47 COR  w/NFHS  stamp on it.  The tournament committee will provide balls.

 

5.        All games are 7 innings and must be played to completion, except when one team is ahead by 10 runs for Fastpitch after 5 innings have been completed.

 

6.        The National Federation tiebreaker rule will go into effect at the end of eight (8) complete innings.

 

7.        The home team will be decided by a coin flip, which will be conducted 30 minutes prior to each game, by the tournament director at the tournament tent.  The home team will occupy the 3rd base bench for each game.

 

 

8.        The home team will keep the official score book for each game. Each team will be allowed five (5) minutes infield prior to their game.

 

 

9.        Teams must be prepared to play immediately upon conclusion of the preceding game on their scheduled field, should it go beyond the starting time for your game.

 

10.    Identical regulation team uniforms with numbers at least 6” high must be worn at all times. Uniform caps or visors are optional for individual players as long as they are clearly part of the uniform.  Bandanas axe prohibited.

 

 

11.    A reminder to all coaches that, when on the field, you are required to be in a team uniform or properly attired as per Rule 3, Section 2,Article 1 on page 34 which states <Any time a coach is in live-ball area to confer with players or an umpire, or to occupy a coach’s box, the coach shall be attired in school uniform or jersey/coaching shirt with coaching shorts/slacks or warm -up suits (including fleece warm -ups) in school colors or colors of khaki1 black, while or gray. Cut-offs or any type of jeans are prohibited.> Jackets axe not considered part of the coach’s uniform. PENALTY:  A coach not dressed in appropriate attire shall be restricted to the dugout during the game. The umpire has the final authority in this regard.

 

 

12.    For the good of the game this rule applies to all bench and field personnel.

 

13.    Protests: Protests regarding rule interpretations and player eligibility M U ST be made prior to the next pitched ball in order to be considered. The protest must then be resolved immediately by the tournament committee. Protests will not be accepted concerning a judgement call by the umpire.

 

14.    No signs except official school banners may be displayed or posted. No noisemakers are allowed.

 

15.    The admission fee as set by the District 4:

17.    Students with ASB                                               $4.00

18.    Students without ASB                                          $6.00

19.    Sr. Citizens (62 & over)                                       $4 .00

20.    Elementary (under l2)                                           $4.00

21.    Preschool (with parent)                                         Free

 

22.    AWARD S –District 4 will furnish a team District Championship Trophy.

 

 

23.    The National Federation appeal rule will apply in all cases.

 

24.    Only official softball bats will be permitted and proper grips and/or tape are required.

 

25.    All batters, base runners, on-deck batters, and catchers must wear a protective helmet with earflaps.

 

26.    Catchers must wear protective helmets, masks, throat and chest protector, and shin guards.

 

27.    Courtesy Runner-see Rule 8-9.

 

28.    Shoes are a requirement. Metal cleats are not allowed.

 

29.    Coaches should be prepared to abide by all rules as they relate to blood on individuals and/or uniforms and equipment.

30.    National Federation substitution rules apply in all cases - see Rule 3.

31.    Any matter not covered about will be left to the discretion of the tournament Committee.
